SLGAAP Bridge Assessment

Since 2021, Hansen Engineering Group has been a preferred supplier for the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) as part of the Strategic Local Government Asset Assessment Program (SLGAAP). Through this program, Hansen Engineering Group has conducted over 100 structural assessments for bridges and culverts across multiple states, including QLD, NSW, VIC, and SA. These assets include a variety of structures such as timber bridges, steel bridges, prestressed concrete bridges, and culverts made of reinforced concrete (RCP, RCBC, RCC) and corrugated steel pipes (CSPs).

Hansen Engineering Group’s role involved comprehensive condition assessments that included evaluating available drawings and inspection data, identifying defects, and determining their impact on the structural capacity of each asset. Hansen Engineering Group applied both the NHVR’s technical framework and industry best practices, including standards such as AS5100 and guidelines from TMR, VicRoads, and TfNSW, to deliver reliable and thorough assessments.
