Quayside Terminal Redevelopment

Hansen Engineering Group was engaged by Port of Townsville (PoTL) to oversee both the concept and detailed design for the Quayside Cruise Terminal Redevelopment; a critical project aimed at increasing the terminal’s capacity to meet growing demand from cruise operators. The scope of work involved significant upgrades across multiple areas, including active transport improvements, shared pathways, and the redevelopment of existing roadways and carparks to enhance bus and public transport facilities.

Key features of the project included the addition of new shade structures, modifications to existing shade infrastructure, and improvements in landscaping and lighting to enhance passenger experience and terminal functionality. Hansen Engineering Group’s role extended from planning and concept design to tender preparation and evaluation, followed by project management throughout the detailed design phase on behalf of PoTL.
