Belgian Gardens Reservoir
Belgian Gardens Reservoir

Hansen Engineering Group was engaged by Townsville City Council for the condition assessment and rehabilitation design of the Belgian Gardens Reservoir, a critical component of Townsville’s water supply infrastructure. Built in the 1960s, the 9ML steel and concrete reservoir had suffered from severe corrosion, requiring extensive rehabilitation work.

Our team performed a comprehensive condition inspection, including non-destructive testing of the existing walls, to assess structural integrity and identify areas for repair. We designed a complete overhaul, including a new re-roof and structural framing to ensure the reservoir’s continued reliability. This project involved detailed engineering solutions to address the challenges posed by corrosion and the need for precise detailing in the rehabilitation process.
